Volunteer Opportunities

GRAND RAPIDS

God’s Kitchen Lunch Service– for individuals
A noontime hot meal is served daily at God’s Kitchen in the Heartside Neighborhood of Grand Rapids. Nourishment and meal-time respite are available to anyone who visits the dining room. Guests are welcomed on a walk-in basis with no questions and no qualifiers. Volunteers work together in regularly scheduled groups of up to 10 to assist in meal preparation, set-up, lunch service and clean-up. View and sign up for an individual opportunity here.

God’s Kitchen Lunch Service– for groups
Interested in getting your group together to serve lunch at God’s Kitchen? We would love to host you! Opportunities are available throughout the year for groups of 8-10. View and sign up for a group opportunity here.

Meals on Wheels
Each month volunteers package and deliver over 1,300 meals to home-bound individuals throughout Grand Rapids. These meals are an important part of addressing food insecurity in our community. You can help by becoming a Meals on Wheels Home Delivery Driver. View and sign up for a current opportunity here.

Host a Bowl Painting Party
Hosting a Bowl Painting Party is a great way to benefit the annual Soup’s On for All! fundraiser that brings awareness to the Food and Pantry programs of Catholic Charities West Michigan. This is all on your own time, for all ages and group sizes. Bowls are $8 to donate, $10 to keep and $18 (one to donate and one to keep). View and sign up for the opportunity here.

Special Events
Catholic Charities West Michigan hosts various activities and fundraisers throughout the year. We need many hands to make these events successful! Our events include Soups On for All!, Let’s Go to Bat for Kids!, Raising Hope Dinner, and various parades and partner agency activities throughout the year. View and sign up for an event opportunity here.

MUSKEGON

Muskegon Food Pantry
Help our community members in need by becoming a volunteer at the Muskegon Food Pantry. Our volunteers serve nearly 2,500 clients per month in need of emergency food items. The time you dedicate makes a huge impact in the lives of those in need. View and sign up for a current opportunity here.

Muskeon Baby Pantry
The Muskegon Baby Pantry offers a selection of new and gently used items for infant and toddler care at no cost. Pantry visitors must be able to show documentation that they are the primary parent or custodian for each child needing items from the pantry. Clients can visit the pantry once each month to obtain items for their children. Volunteers help stock and organize the pantry and shop with clients. View and sign up for a current opportunity here.

Special Projects
The Muskegon Food Pantry receives large donations throughout the year from various fundraisers, events and government distributions. Volunteers assist by loading donations into our truck and unloading back at the pantry. This is a vital part of keeping our pantry stocked for our community members in need.
